Littlemoor Park

The last day of half term and we borrowed Libby and Cerys for the morning as Mum Arlee had baby Zachary a week before. We walked up to the park with Sarah and 3 of her 6 children, Harry, Emma and Jack. With 9 children between the two of us we had our eyes in every direction and arms pushing swings here, there and everywhere.
Libby and Bethany practicing swinging themselves.

Skateboarding on your tummy is much more exciting.

Harry and Oliver flying along on the zip wire.
They were all having so much fun we thought it would be a great idea to have all of them back to ours for lunch. So Sarah and I got to work and after everyone had a full stomach they played the afternoon away with hide and seek (amazing how many hiding places our house has). Cerys and Bethany played at dressing up, there was a game of shops, lego, Libby read books to Jacob and Rebecca and drawing. It was a lovely day. Maybe Scott and I should think about babies 5 and 6 afterall. X

Maiden Castle

Last weekend we went for a lovely walk up to Maiden Castle in Dorchester. It was the perfect afternoon out for Oliver and Jacob who really enjoyed it, but we were accompanied most of the way round by Bethany asking every couple of minutes when we could go home and Rebecca who cried most of the way as it was a perfectly awful afternoon for her and she was thoroughly miserable! However, both girls thawed a little towards the end and we like to think they both secretly enjoyed it too!
Oliver finds land ahoy!
Its a long drop!
My legs are nearly long enough!

A little mud to take home!

Painted Faces

Day 2 of Rachels' visit and Bethany had been invited to a dalmation party. So of course once she was in full face painted dalmation mode the other three children decided they wanted face painting too. We ended up with...

Spiderman Junior
Spiderman Senior

Rare blue eyebrowed bunny rabbit!

Weekend with Rachel day 1

Auntie Rachel arrived yesterday lunch time. First thing this morning we had to try and contain the childrens excitement of wanting to wake up Auntie Rachel at 6:30am. After breakfast Bethany had to get ready for a dalmation birthday party. So we ended up face painting one dalmation, two spiderman and one rabbit. In the afternoon we decided to go for a long adventure walk by the sea.

Katharine explaining to Rachel how much brandy is in the coffee flasks.

Waiting for the splashing waves.

Olivers ready to go fossiling and rock pooling.

Bethany, Jacob & Rebecca take the easy option on fossiling.

Auntie Rachel adding her exploration techniques to the quest.

Sea glass hunting - like mother like son.

Nothe Fort Feb 2010

A trip to Nothe Fort with Max, Anya, Louis and Mum Joleyne. Girls running into the distance with the boys chasing behind. Mmmm
Snack time but Rebecca thought the seagulls might be more in need.
We're nearly there Rebecca. Creep along, flat against the wall and they might not see us.
Beach art. "Girl" by Bethany and Anya.
Only the one puddle, but they all found it and got soaked!

A game of Kittens and chasing the ball ended up in a pile of giggles.

Play Doh

Sorry for the slow Blogging but Mummy has been a little rubbish in remembering to take out the camera and lets face it, no-one looks at the blog to read what I have to say! So you have missed a great trip to the park, an outing to the Library, a walk to feed the ducks and paddle in the river and a day out at Kingston Mauward which included feeding the goats and geese, a walk round the lake, a picnic (although everyone complained of cold bottoms), hide and seek in the gardens and then a game of princesses and the troll in the play park. Guess who had to be the troll?!
Play doh morning while Bethany practices her "break a thousand hearts " look!
Rebecca very excited over making love heart shaped sausages.

I'm sure I can squeeze a few more blue beans into the ice-cream scoop!

Abbotsbury Gardens FEB 2010

The view from the top of Magnolia Hill, of The Fleet and Chesil beach.
Picnic lunch in February? Its always sunny and warm on the south coast.
It may be sunny, but we still needed gloves on! (Actually it wasn't very sunny either).
Trying to escape now they've had their lunch.
My lovely tree picture. I nearly hugged this one.
Trekking through the jungle looking for trolls under the boardwalk.

A Chinese Golden Pheasant . Native to Abbotsbury of course.

Bethany & Becky

We were given the great honour this week of being the first people to babysit baby Becky. High excitement all round and we told her Mum Vanessa to take a very long time and not to hurry back! Becky was fine and it was reassuring to know that we havn't lost our touch! Bethany had forgotton how tiring it is having a baby in the house!

Baby asleep and Bethany happy with a good afternoons work.Add Video
