Mummy's Birthday

Mummy's birthday is always full of spookiness. The children woke on Saturday morning to find Uncle John & Auntie Laura sleeping in the lounge!! We managed a short trip to the secondary school on Saturday to see a model railway exhibition which the children thoroughly enjoyed, the Adult opinions are a little different. Sunday Katharine woke to birthday cards, presents and a treasure hunt to find the remaining of her gifts. Over lunchtime we went for a wet windy walk around Nothe Fort, we met the usual Nothe Fort residents, plus managed to stop for a hot brew, with the usual spillages!

Top of the windy turret At the end of the pier.

That old game of who can get soaked the most! of course Oliver won as usual.

Break Time! cup of tea always makes the rain go away!! ... apparently!

1....2....3.......GO!!

Nope I am not playing that game!

Feeding the residents.

I don think they are aware of personal space!

Im sure I could make money from a squirrel circus!

Sorry Bethany we cannot take him home!

more strange residents.

DiggerLand

As all the children's birthdays seem to come close together we decided to treat them to a special day out to 'Diggerland' courtesy of Tesco's clubcard vouchers. Thankfully the weather held out, so even though we dressed for mud & mess we managed to stay fairy clean. The children loved the whole day, mainly because they could drive and destroy most things.

Oliver took charge of the first ride

Daddy and Jacob hot on Oliver's tale.

Bethany taking her first driving lesson, Jacob wants out its safer!

Oliver & mummy operating a real digger!!!

Bethany destroying the ground. Its amazing what you can achieve in a couple of minutes, she is a born natural!

Rebecca learning the controls.

Bethany digging for treasure! While this was going on I took Oliver, Jacob & Rebecca to have a go on the mini land rovers race track. Oliver went round no problem, Jacob went round really well with only one crash, Rebecca managed to crash 4 times, cut off sections of the course and make her own track ! It was hilarious, I explained to the women next to me that she wants to drive like her mummy!...... she succeeded.

All aboard the digger carousel

In the army diggers quick we are being attacked!!

Jacob & Rebecca 4th Birthday

Apologies for no recent blog, our trusted camera decided one day it did not want to work anymore! so after taking it apart and finding the problem then wondering how I was going to put it back together again, I managed to stop it working completely. So we have resorted to using web camera for footage of Jacob & Rebecca's birthday. The day started with the usual dark morning followed by lightning fast tiny patter of Rebecca's feet, then Bethany's then Oliver's, Jacob decided he needed a lie in, so we waited 15 minutes before enticing Jacob in to the bedroom to open his presents. After the walk to school we took them to town to buy some new shoes and then to the Granby Fun Factory where we energy levels were drained!
Later party tea consisted of every sugary food possible.

The Launch of Fiery Jack

The long awaited addition to the Hammond household finally arrived, the Kayak "Fiery Jack" was launched on its maiden voyage yesterday, I was a bit concerned that it was the females that had the first paddle, but to my relief they came back safe and sound. The final conclusion was that purchasing a kayak was definitely a good idea.

The girls set off, Oliver keeping cloase eye on any sabotage.

Fiery Jack has the X factor

Oliver's 9th Birthday

Another birthday day has come and gone, this time it was Oliver's 9th birthday. Thankfully there some disturbance in the early hours of the morning but this was soon corrected and everyone managed to achieve some more sleep. Oliver received some lovely presents which he is really happy with.

Oliver adding more to his hoard of presents.

Rollerskates

I remember those moments, soon they will be off to the roller discos.

Hex nanos on the move

After all that exercise cake is required, this time in the shape of a WII controller.

Rambecca enjoying the day, but looking forward to her day next month!

Ten Pin Bowling Treat

Sunday mornings at the local bowling center offer discounts for children so as something new to try we gave it a go. Because most of the help ramps were being used the bowls had to be rolled down very very very very slowly, good job I put 2 hours in the parking meter!

Oliver showing the rest how it should be done!

Jacob using the push and roll technique

Bethany producing princess throws.

Rebecca doing the roll and rush to the ball technique.

Sea Glass Hunting

Saturday morning we took a windswept walk around the harbour.

Hunting for seaglass, everyone is fixated, its like hunting for treasure!

Short cut home on the weymouth ferry rowing boat.

When there is nothing else to do just grab daddy's hammer and smash on the neighbours wall! every child should have a go!. .... Thankfully the neighbour did give his permission.
